What Makes Annie & Isabel Designer Hospital Gowns Special?

A funny card we came across...so true!
Annie & Isabel hospital gowns are far superior to the standard issues hospital gown. We have always believed this, but after 4 years, this is something we know for a fact. We stand behind this statement because we are constantly reminded of this by the amazing women who write to us and tell us what a difference an Annie & Isabel gown made in their hospital stay. We are both registered nurses and started our company after listening to years of our patients complain about the thin thread-bare, skimpy, huge, small, one-size-does-NOT-fit all hospital gowns. It is just astounding how a beautiful hospital gown of your own can make such a big impact on how you feel.

Here is why our gowns are so special...

  • Our designer hospital gowns are made of high quality 100% cotton and have a beautiful ribbon trim.
  • We have added an inside side pocket to keep essentials {kleenex, chapstick, phone...}
  • Our gowns wrap around and tie on the side... a simple detail with a HUGE difference {no flashing in the hallways!!}
  • All of our gowns meet hospital standards with snaps on the shoulders to provide easy IV access for medical personnel and makes nursing easy for new mothers.
  • Gowns fall mid-calf length for most women, providing extra security and comfort
  • Sizes available in XS.S,M,L,XL,2XL ~ our sizing guideline for pregnancy and non-pregnancy
  • Made in San Francisco, CA in the USA!!
Here is what some women had to say about Annie & Isabel,

"I felt "dressed" in the gown, which made me feel less like a patient and more like a person. I love my hospital gown!" ~Katie

"It was usually cold walking the halls with a regular hospital gown, but not with my Annie & Isabel gowns that wrap all the way around." ~Ruth

"Your gowns are wonderful! I wore a different one each day and the doctors and nurses would come in just to see what I was wearing! Wearing such pretty gowns gave me a brighter outlook" ~Anna

"The days I wore my Annie & Isabel gown, I actually felt like the staff treated me different. I felt more like a person and was treated as such! I've let so many friends borrow my gown...it's a good luck charm!" ~Stephanie

Thank you to all of our faithful customers who turn to us when a loved one is dealing with a difficult diagnosis. The gift of a gown is much more meaningful than flowers that do not last. Many of our customers wear their gowns to all of their doctor appointments, MRI's and tests, and subsequent hospital stays.

Thank you to all of our customers that think of Annie & Isabel as their go-to baby shower gift and keep their loved ones wrapped up in love and style as they welcome a new life!

We are so blessed to have each and every one of our A&I "ambassadors" who tell people about our company any chance they get! So many of our orders are from word-of-mouth marketing or from women who were gifted a gown and now want to spoil someone with one in return.

When you look great, you feel better!

The Gift Of An Annie & Isabel Designer Hospital Gown

We received this very nice testimonial from Breigh. She loves Annie & Isabel hospital gowns so much that she bought two for herself and purchased them for several of her pregnant friends.....and they are always a big hit! Thanks for keeping all your friends stylish, comfortable and dignified Breigh!!

"My name is Breigh. I have 4 children ages 5 months, 2 years, 3 1/2 years, and 6 years; 2 girls and 2 boys. During my hospital stay with my first three children, I felt so utterly exposed and self-conscious every time I would have to go to the restroom or get something from a bag, etc etc. I would drape another gown backwards in hopes of covering myself. It was only a matter of weeks before delivering my third child that I found Annie and Isabel designer gowns, and I knew I had to have one. Unfortunately I was unable to attain one before delivering.

When I conceived my fourth child, I told my husband I was definitely getting a gown for the birth. In March I ordered 4 gowns; 2 for a friend and 2 for me.

Breigh in her "Annie" gown
In June I gave birth to my second son and as soon as I was over the worst of the "messiness" I put on my first gown. Immediately the compliments started!!! I always feel as though I look horrible, what with the weight gain, water retention, fatigue etc, but wearing my gown, and being told how beautiful I looked in my wonderful gown....my self esteem soared! I had nurses come in and upon seeing my gown would flag down more nurses just to show them.

Breigh with her husband in her "Isabel" gown
I raved about the amazing ladies at Annie and Isabel and gave out the web address more than a dozen times because many of the older nurses had daughters about to have babies and wanted to look into the gowns once seeing them.

I had many visitors and did not have to worry about my body showing or revealing any parts. I also nurse, therefore having the snaps on the shoulders gave such easy access, and allowed for easy 'skin-to-skin' time. My gowns were so much more comfortable than the stiff, scratchy, hospital issued gowns and really added to my entire experience.

Baby brother meets his siblings
I also continued to wear my gowns once home. It was nice having a gown that made certain feminine routines so much easier as well as easy nursing in the middle of the night.

I have ordered a total of 6 gowns since March; the most recent being in November 2012. I gave another expectant mother a beautiful gown to make her look as beautiful as ever on her exciting, life-changing, and most important day she will have to experience. The look on her face at receiving the gown was priceless, and every woman at the shower oohed and awed over such a great gift. I will continue buying, supporting, and recommending these gowns from now on! Thank you ladies for boosting new mothers confidence and making us look beautiful during an exhausting, overwhelming, and magical moment."

After A Tragic Loss Jami Welcomes Baby Shailo

We have been blessed with so many friendships created through our business. One friendship we cherish is with Jami of the blog Colour Her Hope. We first "met" her when she was pregnant with her second child Eisley. She blogged beautifully about her complicated pregnancy with Eisley and we, along with her many readers, friends, and family, stood by her side as Eisley went to be with Jesus on September 14th, 2010. Jami blogged through her most intimate feelings of sadness, grief, and healing truly capturing the hearts of so many. We kept her in our daily thoughts and prayers and she continues to amaze us with her strength and grace.

We were so happy to hear that Jami was going to be blessed with another beautiful child after the loss of her baby girl Eisley. She blogged about her pregnancy again and told us she wanted to purchase an Annie & Isabel hospital gown. She couldn't decide on her favorite, so she enlisted the help of her readers in this post here. As you can see from the beautiful moments captured below, the Anita gown was the winner as she welcomed baby boy Shailo Valour on November 8, 2011!

"I felt so pretty in my Annie & Isabel hospital gown. And... oh my word did I receive so many comments about how beautiful and unique my gown was from family, friends, and nurses! One day I even had a nurse pull in a few more ladies just to show off my gown to them. Thank you so much for starting Annie & Isabel and blessing so many of us with your stunning designs."

The Comfort of an Annie & Isabel Hospital Gown for an Emergency C-Section

We get this question all the time...

"Will I be able to wear my Annie & Isabel hospital gown for a c-section?"

We can't say for sure if your hospital will allow you to wear your own gown, but many of our Annie & Isabel customers have worn them for c-sections. Annie & Isabel gowns are actually the perfect hospital bag item if you are scheduled to have a c-section. Post-op, the frequent incision checks are that much easier, as is skin to skin bonding, and nursing. Most women just aren't ready to wear clothes immediately after abdominal surgery. Regardless, every new mother deserves to look stylish, be comfortable, and stay dignified postpartum in your own hospital gown!

Jenn was wearing her Anita designer hospital gown the minute she laid eyes on her beautiful son Nolan. Jenn had been admitted to the hospital early due to complications and we worked with her thoughful husband to get her an Annie & Isabel gown. We were so happy and relieved to hear of baby Nolan's arrival!

This is what Jenn had to say about her experience wearing an Annie & Isabel designer hospital gown during her c-section and recovery,
"My husband bought me an Annie & Isabel gown after being admitted for bleeding with placenta previa at 34 weeks knowing I would be in the hospital until our baby boy had arrived. I was on complete bed rest for 4 days in the hospital until the bleeding became uncontrolled. That's when they rushed me to the OR to do an emergency c-section. My baby boy was 35 weeks. He is our little miracle baby! I was so happy to have such a beautiful gown to wear while I was in the hospital. It made the super uncomfortable days seem a little brighter!!! Thank you Annie & Isabel for your dedication to provide beautiful gowns!"
Love,
Jenn Moore

Jenn is also the owner of Jenn's Bebe Boutique. We just drool over her adorable custom bows, headbands, and tutus! Yes, we are the mamas to six boys, but how can you not buy these bows for our friends daughters?! We LOVE to support mom owned businesses and would love it if you would too!

Happy Anniversary To Us ~ Our Second Year

It is hard to believe that another year has passed here at Annie & Isabel designer hospital gowns!

We want to thank each and every one of you for your support, love, and encouragement in our second year!

We have grown more than we could have ever imagined. Our gowns have been spotted in hospitals all over the United States and even in countries like Poland, Dubai, Norway, Australia, The United Kingdom and Canada to name a few! We've even unexpectedly seen our hospital gowns being worn by patients in the hospitals we both work in! Those sightings provided us with surreal moments where we have definitely pinched ourselves with excitement.

A few highlights from our second year...

Our Isabel designer hospital gown went to Hollywood and was a mainstay on abc's hit show Private Practice! How amazing it was to see our beautiful Isabel gown in high definition and on actors such as Kate Walsh.

We loved the excitement that surrounded our celebrity status gown sightings on primetime television, but anyone who knows us really well, knows that we cherish more the "real life" celebrities, or warriors, as we call them, that we honor through our Feel Better Campaign nominations. This past year, we recognized Brianne with cystic fibrosis with her beautiful outlook and attitude. We recognized Pricilla the "Wheelchair Mommy", who doesn't let a wheelchair slow her down. Lastly, we recognized Julie, who, after falling victim in a devastating car accident, not only survived, but has become an inspiration to so many far and near! We want to thank our readers for all the support you have sent to our FBC recipients.

We shared in the joy of so many women as they welcomed babies in style! Several of our original customers have even worn our gowns for a second birth like Ardeep, who welcomed her daughter in our Annie gown and then welcomed her son in our Isabel gown. Such a beautiful family and precious moments captured by the talented Brenda Bisharat Photography.

Our designer hospital gowns have always been popular for pregnancies but, over this last year, we have seen a huge growth in sales for people dealing with all types of medical conditions and also from family members buying them for a loved one in hospice care. We have received positive feedback from customers telling us that their Annie & Isabel hospital gowns made them feel special during a difficult time. It fills our hearts with joy knowing that our gowns can provide comfort and dignity to these patients.

Some obstacles...

Selena lost her beloved mother-in-law Arlene to cancer. She was one of Annie & Isabel's biggest cheer leaders and always had a brochure in her purse. It was only fitting that she wore all of our gowns in the last weeks of her life. Her 5 year old grandson, George, enjoyed picking out Grandma's hospital gowns {this Anita was his favorite} and loved to stay close to her in her final days.

Anna was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in January and just finished her treatments. She has been overwhelmed with the love and support of our Annie & Isabel community and will forever treasure all the emails, messages on Facebook, and tweets of encouragement. Thank you.

 On the horizon...

We are about to launch our men's hospital gown line!!! We have two fabrics and have perfected the design. It's going to be a little different, but don't worry men, we've still got you covered!

We are excited to introduce our new Elizabeth hospital gown! We discontinued our original Elizabeth due to fabric unavailability and are in LOVE with our replacement. As always, we donate a portion of each Elizabeth gown sale to the The Navigator Program which directly supports local women and men with breast cancer. We chose this program because our Grandmother, Elizabeth, succumbed to breast cancer and we wanted to honor her in this way.

Thank you again to all our fans and customers who have supported us. What we love most about our company is making connections with all of you. You are the faces of our company and we value every relationship we make. We are inspired on a daily basis by the people we meet through Annie & Isabel and that is what keeps us going so THANK YOU!!!

For our anniversary, we are offering 15% off this week only, Monday - Friday! Please use the checkout code "anniversary" and pass it on to anyone who might need a hospital gown. We still believe everyone should at least have one tucked away in their drawer. Hospital trips are not always planned and you don't want to be caught flapping in the wind!

Ellen's "Baby Meets City" in The Annie Designer Hospital Gown!

New York City mom blogger Ellen welcomes her second daughter in the Annie designer hospital gown!

Here is what Ellen said about wearing an Annie & Isabel hospital gown for such a special occasion,

"I absolutely loved wearing my "Annie" hospital gown as we welcomed our new daughter, Vivian Ella, into the world. And not just because it was pink!  So much of the hospital experience is uncomfortable -- from the gowns given upon arrival to the bed you're expected to sleep in.  It was such a pleasure to wear something bright and beautiful (yet comfy!) as I shared our precious daughter with friends and family who came to visit."

You can learn more about Ellen on her blog "baby meets city" where she writes about juggling motherhood and her darling daughters in New York City.

Thank you to Ellen for the beautiful picture and testimonial!

Lisa Wears "The Anita" Hospital Gown to Welcome Baby Tabitha

We are so happy to share this lovely testimonial from Lisa wearing our Anita designer hospital gown for the birth of her fourth child. She was so gracious to share these special hospital moments with us and about her experience in an Annie & Isabel gown.

This is what Lisa said about her special day,

"I am pleased to let you know baby #4 joined our family on Jan. 3, 2012. Tabitha Mercy met us around 4:30pm weighing in at 6lbs 15oz and 19.5in. I was so excited to have a nice clean gown to change into after my shower. It was super comfy, beautiful and modest. The best compliment came from the massage therapist. She was so excited about it, I was fully covered, she loved the colors and the feel of the fabric, direct quote being "It's alot better then the things they (the hospital) give you. I wish we had more of these."

It made me feel so good to be able to get out of bed and not worry about showing off something I didn't want to. With being on hemorrage watch it was very nice to have on still for my routine checks. Thank you so much for creating such a useful and blessing filled product. I am in love with it and am glad to know I will be able to use it again.

Thanks you again for blessing me with the Anita gown. It really helped to boost my spirits! May God bless you for blessing women in this way."
~Lisa

A Husband's Gift of Love and Style For His Wife Who Struggles with Parkinson's

We always think it so special when a loving husband purchases one...two.. or several...of our Annie & Isabel designer hospital gowns for their wife. THEY GET IT! They understand that all women really do feel better when they look better! We first "met" Ronnie when he emailed us about his lovely wife, Suzanne, who is living in a care center due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He won over our hearts with the love he has for his Suzanne. We asked him if he would share how having the Annie & Isabel designer hospital gowns has made a difference for them and this is what he said:

"I am in receipt of the two hospital gowns I purchased for my wife.  They are great.  The care center she is in provides, (standard), gowns for nightly use. On bath mornings, for convenience, they use a fresh gown with a couple of small throws I have provided, as dress for breakfast. I was looking for something "more stylish" for these occasions, and indeed found it with your product.

I had originally brought a "heavy" terry cloth robe from a nice hotel years ago. As her Parkinson's has progressed and caused her body to be rigid that she is no longer able to stand, sit (except in a wheel chair), making it very difficult for the aids to put the robe on with her arms in the sleeves.

I must tell you, the aids compliment me on how nice the gowns are. They are very easy to care for, just wash/dry and put on a hanger. I have decided I am going to your site and ordering one of each size in various colors. Not for Suzanne, but for friends and family who I normally send flowers, I will now give them a gown for after a surgery or whatever. These will look much better up and down the hall.

The gowns are great and I will let all know of your product! A happy customer!!!"

Connie Welcomes Beautiful Baby Boy in the Anita Hospital Gown

We just love sweet baby boys and when a new mom is celebrating the birth of her third son, we get SO excited for her! Boys are all that we know. Between the two of us we have six of them, so we know that the bond between brothers is a magical thing. We received this beautiful testimonial and pictures from Connie. She looks radiant in her Anita designer hospital gown! We want to thank Connie for sharing this special memory and gorgeous family of boys with all of us!!!

"There is something special about being able to wear a hospital gown that makes you feel beautiful at a time where you may feel a bit out of sorts. We have three wonderful boys, but I was only fortunate to wear an Annie & Isabel gown on the last go around. What a difference it makes to be wearing something that you feel good in. Thank you so much for adding to the beauty of the experience of having a child and I look forward to sharing Annie & Isabel with friends and family." ~ Connie

Congrats Connie!!  You have a beautiful family.
